La atresia de coanas es la alteración congénita nasal más
común. Cuando es bilateral, se manifiesta por la dificultad
respiratoria del recién nacido. El diagnóstico se sospecha
por la imposibilidad de pasar una sonda nasogástrica por
las fosas nasales, y se confirma con fibroscopio y con TC
facial. Es necesario buscar otros desórdenes congénitos
asociados, como el síndrome de CHARGE. El tratamiento
se realiza en los primeros días tras el nacimiento para estabilizar
la vía aérea. El abordaje endoscópico transnasal es
efectivo y la mejor opción para esta patología.

disorder. It manifests by respiratory distress in the newborn,
when it is bilateral. The diagnosis is suspected by
the failure to pass a nasogastric tube through the nostrils,
and is confirmed with fiberscope and facial TC. It is necessary
to search for other congenital disorders, such as a
CHARGE syndrome. The treatment is performed in the
first days after birth to stabilize airway. The transnasal
endoscopic approach is effective and the best choice for
this pathology.
