Reconstruction of big tridimensional defects in head and neck oncologic surgery with anterolateral t

ABSTRACT

The anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is a versatile soft tissue flap, it can be harvested as a fasciocutaneous or myo-cutaneous flap. Morbidity is remark- ably minimal despite the availability of such generous amounts of tissue. The vascular anatomy is predictable but there are lesser-known and poorly described anatomy pertains to the pedicle of the flap itself. We describe a patient with squamous cell carcinoma in the rigth maxillary sinus stage IVA where we performed a tridimensional reconstruction not only intraoral but also in the third middle of the face defects.
